Whistle while you work..

Well its that time of year again when the weather is misrable, its dark 70% of the time, and you look forward to going home and putting on your jammies!

Only one thing to do...have a clear out of your house...get rid of all the clutter and make yourself feel useful! Well that's my plan!

So it started on sunday, bedroom got attacked..to be honest i got fed up fighting my way into my wardrobe every morning, never finding what i needed and trying to ignore the ironing for as long as possible lol. 12 hours it took, I did have a break for lunch, a trip to the local shop and a stop at the pet shop (i needed to escape the muddle for a while), but my wardrobe is now a place to be admired!

With the help of my dad (I am too dangerous to be left in charge of a drill!) I also got some more shelves put into my wardrobe and now everything is displayed properly :) I just cant help sliding the doors open to look at the neatness lol! Now the challenging part ensues.....I have to keep it that way!

However the rest of the flat looked a bit of a state with with black bags everywhile, piles of books and general clutter...why does that always happen? And somehow I have landed up with 2 laundry baskets of ironing, plus my clothes horse and radiator full of clothes! I now have stuff to keep me occupied for the next two nights...woohoo (not!)

Ahhh but it was all worth it...my sanity is intact lol!

This weekend I plan to start on the kitchen...

The Mysterious World of Speed Dating

A couple of glasses of vino, some cute but not too dressy outfits, a splash of make-up and a spritz of perfume...that's all it took before my friend and I were ready to delve into the mysterious world of speed dating...da da da da!

Which in case your curious, was a giggle! Twelve men and thirteen woman all looking to find that elusive spark in three minutes....realistic or not? Ha ha

The wine was flowing, the conversation sometimes free flowing other times a little sticking intermediately interrupted by the bell chimes that indicted it was time for the men to move on. A couple of short breaks between a series of dates allowed you to refuel or sometimes carry on the conversation with your 'date'. All in all a good night and a great way to increase your circle of friends....I mean what else would you be doing on a Monday night??

So now I am sitting waiting to find out if anyone has checked my 'box' so to speak...it takes me back to waiting by the phone waiting for a boy to get in touch. I am logging in to check for updates (twice in the last hour...while I'm on lunch...and woohoo 1 checked date box :) ). I did meet some guys I would like to see again so will be checking their boxes later (ooh err!) and hopefully a date or two will come out of this!

However I will say one good thing about it all....when else do you get to meet 12 men in a couple of hours that you know are single?? Exactly!

So if nothing comes of this....then sign me up for the next round! :D

Number 18 - Japan!

Well weeks of googling has paid off.

Thank you internet!!

I have finally found 'Japan' without having to actually go to Japan lol.

There is a restaurant in Hanover Square in London which has the name @Japan!

I now have to plan a trip to London to go to this restaurant. I'll be Eve @Japan lol :)

Number 21!

I almost forgot!!!

Number 21 - to learn sign language.

Since I was little my granda taught my sister and I the alphabet using BSL. I was always eager to learn more and even enquired about a course, although it was rather excpensive!

My sister has since learnt Makaton sign language and I was still intrigued to learn more.

I found out that one of the Brownie leaders I know uses BSL and would be willing to show the Girl Guides a few things....time for them to achieve an interest badge thought I!

Over the course of the last couple of months I have been learning sign language with the Girl Guides. Anyway we now know how to say, I mean sign, a few things to each other and also to say the Guide Promise! I am so impressed! The Girl Guides are happy they have a new badge and I am happy as I have achieved another thing on my list...winners all round!

So wooohoooo number 21 complete! yipee!!

Although I suspect I will keep learning this throughout the next year or so...it's soooo interesting!

It's been a while..

Well it's been a while since I was last on here, sorry for that! But to be honest I have been ill for a few days and I havent really done anything more about 'the list' as yet.

Though I have had a look into hiring a boat and sailing along the caledonian way ...it looks fab! Or maybe hiring a boat for a couple of hours on the Falkirk Wheel - maybe an idea for my 30th??
Now that would be different!

Still no luck on the Japan named pub or restaurant...my googling continues!

On other non list related stuff I have been thinking about my career a lot of late. I have been in this job for 6 years now albeit now fully qualified but am just wondering if its the right job for me? I have at least 4 more exams to do...but every so often I keep thinking about my original career path of a teacher. In this day and age is it wise to go into the teaching system though? Answers on a postcard....
