Well I survived!!
I did try and sell N though, but change my mind at the last minute lol.
All in all a good break - except for nearly 200 mossie bites! grrrrrrr!!
The wedding before the holiday was a great giggle..bride and groom both looked stunning! Our room 118 turned into party central lol! Then when we got to egypt we got checked into room 2118! Freaky!!
Although I've only been back a week holiday now seems like a distant memory...tan is also fading :(
But the good news is it's only 32 sleeps until christmas :) woohoo!
I've almost completed my christmas shopping too, with a few things left to buy and thats it. Just gotto get the wrapping paper now lol.
Had a chat to G re christmas and guess what he's coming up! It's going to be soooo good! I think i've maybe gone a bit ott with his christmas but what the hell he deserves it :)

so what have i been upto....
So what have you been upto these last couple of weeks?? Actually is there anybody there???? Haha i kniow there is at least one....So hello you!
Well lets see what been happening in Banter and Bosie land...
Finally booked a holiday - yeah !!! Am off to sunny Egypt with N - two weeks today actually! Lots of sun and cocktails heading our way and some much needed girly time :) I cant wait! :D Though we have a weekend of madness beforehand so will no doubt need the week to recouperate!
Still working away and I have just finished writing my dissertation - yawn! Oh well thats part two hopefully completed only 1 more to go...need to do some studying for that actually. Should i take my study books to Egypt?? i think not lol.
Helped N sort out party invites and they are ACE! Got mine through the post with G's name on it (first time ever my +1 is actually a boyf woohoo!) So excited about this. Need to sort out her pressie though and think about some things for her party...no way is she getting out of the posters of when she was little lol.
Still seeing the boy, aka G (2 months - woohoo!) and things still going strong :) Looking into a holiday next april so everything is good and i seem to have lost my jitters or whatever it is that stops me looking too far ahead...roll on the good times :) He's a good un ;p
Oh yeah i nearly forgot - became a BRUNETTE! Yeah people you heard right! Finally took the plunge and after months if not years of wanting darker hair finally bit the bullet and did it. And i love it!! It's so ace...although not used to it at all and if i'm perfectly honest get a scare everytime i catch my shadow in the mirror lol. But i love it and it's here to stay for the considerable future :D
I have become a stalker...sorry to admit this but it's true. However i feel i should elaborate....it's not of people you see but of clothes...one dress in particular...from next....that has been in their catalogue for months yet never available to purchase. Yet today it finally came online woohooo!! And with only a 2 week wait (hopefully will be here shorter than that as need it for a wedding on the 6th Nov eeeek) i have clicked that buttons and now sit in hope! (i know your just dying to be kept updated with this! ;p)
So in the next few weeks....i've just got a few parties and weddings to attend (50th birthday, wedding, concert and then holiday all in one weekend - madness!!) and then it's CHRISTMAS!!!!only 60 sleeps, 7 hours, 13 mins and a few seconds to go wooohooo!
So what's on your santa list??

Skiiiiiiiing! Whoosh!
The boy decided to book an impromptu weekend in glasgow, and the plan was to chill out and enjoy some time together (what with me and my hectic schedule). He then planned a surprise visit to Xscape and a beginners skiing lesson!
Now I love the thought of skiing but the idea of falling and breaking something kept putting me off. But since it was all booked then i had no choice...and i'm so glad i went!
Firstly there was the embarrassment of fitting into ski pants (believe me these are not attractive!) and whispering your size to the attendant so that the boy cant hear is not great lol. Plus i think she took great delight in giving me a mix matched outfit as the trousers were small and the jacket fitted fine lol (or maybe it's just my hips and i will have to work on the diet a bit more). Anyway after a lot of huffing and puffing I was dressed to ski.
Over to the boots and ski's department to get kitted up....and this is where they ask your weight :faint: luckily the boy got taken to a different counter and again i whispered the dreaded numbers to the attendant. She didnt faint or scream (thank god!) and just adjusted the ski's appropriately. So boots on, ski's in hand, dressed as a blue and black marshmallow and still a helmet to go (flattering is not the case when it comes to skiing and thank god there were no mirrors in sight lol).
Anyway all kitted up and checked over we headed out to the snow (minus five brrrr). Firstly we learnt to slide and balance on our right foot, then the left and then both ski's were on and we were trying to climb the slope. Believe me it's a lot easier to watch lol! And the only way down is to ski....help! I managed the first two attempts, a lot of balancing problems though and without the instructor, Jo, I would have been on my bum. However, on the third attempt and slide down the hill bum in snow and highly embarrassment. Worse part was trying to stand up after the fall - think more of a beached whale and you'll get the idea lol.
Lots more practice later and i had mastered the tow rope up the slope, a slow ski down the hill and a controlled stop woohoo level one passed! Hopefully next time i'll get further up the hill than a few hundred yards though ;p

What's a girl to do??
Anyway he asked if i fancy going away for the weekend....a city break to be precise and it's exactly what i fancy! Plus having never been away with a bf it's all a novelty :)
But I have also arranged to go on hols with my best friend. Now nothing is booked with her and I also fancy a few nights away girly style. Originally it was a week in the sun totally chilling out but the more i think about it a few nights somewhere would be better nothing to do with the men in our lives just think we have enough on our plate to juggle.
So with christmas, weddings and a few 30th birthdays looming I'm a little stuck what to do.
Now depending on where we settle on going I can do two city breaks (I love these and at this time of year it's exactly what you want to do) or I can go away for a week with friend.
What would you do??
Basically at the end of it I have to wait and see what friend says as i agreed to go away with her so it's her decision.
Guess i'll have to wait and see what's what....keep your fingers crossed!

So update time...
Work wise- picking up slowly. One exam down and a few to go :) baby steps and all that. Getting back into the swing of things :)
Social life is great actually. Have decided that I am only going to do/ go to the things that I want to. No more feeling like I have no choice. Maybe it's what being 30 is all about. I'm making more time for my friends and we're actually taking time out to see each other for a much needed cuppa and a chat :) Just working on a few trips away - a weekend with my friends and the boy (wow this is a first!) and then a weekend with the boy possibly and then a holiday with my friend. Looking forward to it all!
Love life - surprisingly good (i know you've just fallen off your seat..I'll give you a minute). After the joys of internet dating and eventually giving up I seem to have found a guy (I know they always say it's when you stop looking lol). Very early days but I like it...a lot.
and it's only 3 1/2 months to christmas! wooooohhhhoooooo!!

Monday, 16 August 2010
So sorry I've not been on here for a decade but just been living life so to speak!
Well it happened I turned 30! And it didnt hurt, infact it was quiet enjoyable lol. I celebrated my birthday Mad Hatter style with a tea party :) Lots of friends and family invited and I decorated the garden accordingly with lots of help :)
My family dressed up as the characters from Alice in Wonderland (tim burton style):
Mum - Red Queen
Dad - Mad Hatter
Sis - White Queen
Scott (Brother in law) - White Rabbit
Nycolle (bff) - Cheshire Cat
My uncles - Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum
and I was Alice.
Everyone turned up with hats of all shapes and sizes...my granma even made her's with jelly and cakes!
All in all a great night, even some futterwacken at the end lol! Needless to say Nyc, Fi and I stayed up to celebrate the rest of the night in style (hoodies and fancy dress costume - nice!) and partied away to the early hours :)
Then on the sunday I was kidnapped! (albeit with a overnight bag and my gladrags on ;p)...with a hangover I might add lol... My sister and mum took me to Malmaison for cocktails, dinner and a girly sleepover :) Good times!!! (you might remember that Mailmaison was on my list).
On monday (my actual birthday) I had family over for some champagne and sunbathing in the garden. The bestest birthday ever!!!

Up Up Up in the Air woohoo!
Last weekend I managed to walk some of the Deeside Railway line (thanks sis!) so i'm halfway or slightly more through that one. woohoo!
Seems the weight is finally shifting too...mum commented today that i look skinner (woohoo 1 st 6lbs down and only 1 million to go!) lets see what else i can achieve by my birthday...
Oh and the whole boy thing is over and done with (you may have realised this too) but ce la vie! More fish in the sea and all that. Have succumb back to the world of internet dating - i have no idea why, as cant really be bothered (my profile is like trying to solve the krypton factor lol) but cant really see another way of meeting anyone. All well thought this year i would be 'plus 1' for my birthday but the world works in mysterious ways lol.
Still having a bit of a wobble re the whole turing 30 thing - but honestly have no reason too! I need to wise up for my own good lol. It will be one great big celebration weekend - ending in champagne woohoo! I have a special bottle of Krug that I have been saving for the occassion :)
So plans this weekend...going to see SATC with the girls on friday, no doubt a cosmo or magarita or two before the show ;p and then flying saturday! I cannot wait.
Have a good weekend all! (haha just realised it's only wednesday but since i have a guides tea party tonight - cuppa anyone? and meeting a friend tomorrow it'll no doubt fly in lol)
(After exam day on the 17th operation birthday tea party will commence....bet you cant wait!)
Wednesday, 2 June 2010
Number 13!
Now when to do it?? Sunday would be ideal but i'm climbing Bennachie! Why did i not make this the guides challenge?
Right so maybe friday night/ sat morning is the plan. Will see if i can steal mollie (thats my parents dog incase any of you are wondering :))
Oh and confirmation of flying lesson is in...roll on 20th June@ 10.45!
Monday, 31 May 2010

Or can i count a boat at the duthie park as a mini barge??? hehe16. Learn to speak a foreign language! - Ok am stuck here....i know basic german and very little else. WHat to do?? start something new or expand on the german?? (I am also studying for work so time is of the essence). Think i am going to work on the german...
18. Go to Japan. - aberdeens version of Japan is Yatai. Anyone want to come with?

28 days and counting!!! Lets go fly a kite...or maybe an aeroplane! Eeeek ;p
Well only 28 days to go...and i have to confess I am having a bit of a wobble. Not about turning thirty - bring it on I say, just the whole where I thought i'd be in my life compared to where I am.
Now don't get my wrong...I love my life and I really wouldnt change it for the world, but back in the days of yonder I always thought I would be settled down with a man, children and a house i love (I did the whole i want to have all my children by the time i'm 30 when i was younger and to be honest i still am unsure if i really want children but then if we all dont have children there will be no-one to pass on the stories onto). The funny thing is I love my house so check i've done one thing, i have the best set of family and friends around me and I love my job (which has been hard work to get to where i am). Ok so there's no man on the scene...really it's not the end of the world, worse things can happen and as for children ehm i need the first to create the second so i'm just stressing for nothing really.
See a quick rabble on here and the world is at rights again ;p. So i will celebrate the end of my 20's in style...or maybe that should be in utter kaos and madness..since it is a mad hatters tea party ;p
But before the party there is still the list to complete....
and I have just booked my flying lesson!! (number 4) So roll on a couple of weeks and I will be up in the sky (and i'm taking my sister with me, lucky her!). I'm excited!!!
Over and out - tehehe
(thats me down to 9 things left...better get a shimmy on)

Number 23 was a friends magazine she was completing for her degree. I had to write an article on the woes of dating which was published. It was a great read and designed for the 20 something girl. I wish it was in general publication as I would be an avid reader :)
So i have 14 things to complete! Better get my skates on....
crazy golf anyone??? hehe
In with the new...
After my mad flutter of internet dating...lots of dates all crammed into a few weeks I seem to have found a boy i like...well i must do as i keep wanting to meet up with him lol and he seems to like me. It's all good!
So lets see where this leads....
I'm a happy duck lol
I survived....though my liver is a little worse for wear!
So if the train journey was anything to go by...15 bottles of fizzy wine...it was going to be a mad one!
We were dressed up in masks and feather boas on the train, mexicans on friday night and sailors on the sat. Had such a laugh with scavenger hunts a plenty and lots of games and prizes to be won :) The poor men of Edinburgh lol.
I would devulge more but what happens on a hen weekend stays with the hens I'm afraid ;p
Roll on 3 weeks till the wedding! :D

Easter....chocolate bunnies at the ready!
So have you had your fill of chocolate already while enjoying the long weekend (if your lucky to get it)??
I got a lovely surprise yesterday morning when my mum turned up at my flat with 3 bunches of tullips and we had coffee and brunch together :) Great start to the day!
After a lazy weekend of enjoying my flat and doing some DIY I finally succumbed and munched my way through a chocolate bunny yesterday....well it was Easter Sunday! What is it about chocolate in the shape of an egg/ bunny/ or whatever animal you like...that tastes better than an ordinary bar of chocolate?
And why because it's Easter Sunday do you feel you can have chocolate for breakfast, lunch and supper lol.
well enjoy the rest of the holiday... i'm sure I can hear the rest of that bunny calling ;p

To Mini or not to Mini that is the question..
So the plan is to upgrade to something a little bit more economical for city driving yet likes getting out and about occassionally.
And i am tempted with a Mini!
I took an 03 Mini out for a test drive at the weekend...and I loved it! It is accually bigger than my convertable (go fiqure!) although lacking in boot space. But i just love the fun that this car illudes too :) So I nearerly signed on the dotted line for the 03...but decided this morning that i should just pay a bit extra and get a slightly younger car. So the next plan is to see what other bargain i can get...
Or maybe i should be sensible and go for an even more economical car??
To Mini or not to Mini that is the question!
My 30th!
Anyway a Mad Hatters Tea Party is the theme...will lots of hats and games etc.
I plan to have it in my garden...with lots of props :) I have already got tables and china wear organised. And lots of lanterns. I am going to speak to a couple of local cinemas to see if i can have their disgarded advertisements for the film (clever ;p). And a rough idea of what my outfit will be (I want to be Um, Alice at court basically but i just love the dress!!)
Last night mum and I made the invites, and if i do say so myself they are brill!! WHat do you think?

I'm so excited already and i still have 3 months to go woohoo!!
I'll keep ya posted ;p
Monday, 22 March 2010
Whoosh!
The 39 Steps is such a funny play, I was in stiches :)
Sat was great to catch up with everyone and have a giggle. Seems like an age since we last met up though.
Although my plan of hibernation yesterday didn't happen as I was up like a lark at 6.40am!! Off to the gym then a lookie around b&q before spending hours in the gardening tidying up and getting ready for spring :) A last minute dinner invite from my mum and sis had me flying down the road...but it was good to get out for a while.
But i just don't know what it is about Sunday nights....I was walking home about 7.30 nothing particularly on my mind, ipod singing out and generally feeling happy then suddenly lonely. I was heading home to an empty house, well my cats were in but since they spend most of their time sleeping it feels empty at times. So i stopped off at Sainsbury's stocked up general odds and sods and then continued my walk home refusing to continue on my melancholy path. I will be happy goddamit :D
So that was my weekend, great really and i now have a tidy garden to enjoy when the sun next decides to make it appearance :D
Hope you made the most of yours too!

The weekend lies ahead...
Why oh why do i always book myself up so much??
This weekend i plan to take it easy. Maybe a long lie and a trip to the gym then over to see all the girls. Simple right? Not in my life it aint....i've got myself tooing and froing all weekend so that i'm run ragged lol. Ahh well i'm sure it'll all be worth it :)
Sunday i plan a day of hybernation with the papers...if i tell you otherwise feel free to slipper me!
I'm sure i hear the wine calling me.....better scoot!
Have a good one :)
Internet dating the continuing saga....
and I have been out on a couple of dates with a couple of boys. Firstly there's Clingfilm man who basically wants to attach to my side all the time, holding my hand and staring into my eyes...ehm enough already! Then there's the guy that keeps calling me babes or deary (even after i told him it was making me feel uncomfortable).I haven't even met him and I have no intention too now. Your getting the picture right??
I have made friends with a couple of people and maybe a chat or two over coffee will happen but if not then i'm happy muddling along with my life.
I dont think internet dating is for me though. So what's next??
Monday, 8 March 2010
Internet dating..
The traditional routes of 'hitting the town', set ups from friends, joining a gym (ehm who wants to go to the gym face full of make-up? and looking good in gym gear...not me for one! I am there to work out!) / course or even through work are all well and good but where do you go if all else fails...the internet. We use it most days and if in doubt we turn to our trusted friend google lol.
So in this day and age can we just 'Google a man'?
So in the name of research (ahem) I have joined a dating site (this is not my first flurry to the dark side). It is a free one and quite popular among the young uns so with my laptop at the ready I typed up my profile (witty, clever and slightly cheeky), attached a recent picture and waited for the emails to come..and boy did they...from every Tom, Dick and Harry. Some were brief (hi...there was it no puctuation or even a do you want to chat), some were long and slushy (ehm you dont know me so stop declaring your undying love) and some were without pictures (if i can attach a picture then so can you matey). So it's been a case of reply to some and delete some.
It's been a week since i joined...and i've had a few dates. While I'm not looking for a knight on a white horse, the idea of meeting someone i get on with would be good. So who knows what this might bring...(all in the name of research of course ;p)
Number 2 on the list...
5k eeeeek! i think that works out at 200 lengths...and considering i havent been swimming in a couple of years i better get my bum in gear!!
I can't manage (excuses already?? haha) the one on the organised date (1 month away eeek!) as I am away a hen weekend (plus i might have to do some training first) but plan to do it the 26th June (i think, it def wont be later than that as my birthday is two days later and it has to be completed by then!)
I want to raise £1k for marie curie cancer. The challenge is on!!

Firday night and the weekend lies ahead...
I've had a hectic week, what with Burns night, anniversary celebrations, the ballet and a turnmoil in my dating life (yeah i actually have well had one of them lol)...all i want to do tonight is have a bath and crawl over my bed into a blissful coma (my cold might have something to do with this also).
The rest of the weekend will be gyming it and meeting some friends for cocktails tomorrow night (if the weather doesnt put heed to that!). And i cant wait, honestly! Gone is my need to have my day planned out to the max, my weekends filled with 'to do' lists and coffees with friends here, there and everywhere (mind you I still love wittering away the hours in a coffee shop :) ). Am i getting old? Perhaps but I would rather be getting old and enjoying my weekend than rushing about all weekend and counting down the days till the next one.
So whats the point to all this blethering you say...well i suggest you take time out this weekend to do something for you and relish the moment!
Have a good one!! :)

New Years Resolutions....
For the next month the gym becomes a minefield, everyone is depressed because they have cut out the excess from their diet and the weather doesnt help much!
Roll on February when everything is a bit calmer lol (and i can get a decent workout at the gym)
(Plus I am in vegas woohoo!)

Musings...
What is it with turning 30 that has you re-evaluating your life? Looking at what you have
achieved and whats instore in the future??
Now to the people that know me I am quite a bubbly person, I take most things as they come, I enjoy my friendships and think family is one of the most important things to treasure. I like to achieve certain goals throughout the year and always have something to keep me busy.
Tough since i think more and more about the next 6 months I begin to wonder more what ifs and it's definately more on the relationship theme. Is it years of media that has me thinking that at 30 I should be settled with a man I want to spend my future with? Have 2.4 children and the house with the picket fence? (For the record the picket fence and children part are still undecided) Or maybe it's just because one of my closest friends just got engaged and another family member is expecting her first child. Or maybe it's my own biological clock sounding out the familar noise that everyone my age dreads to hear?
For what's it's worth I am happy in my life as it currently stands. I have a great friendship/ family circle. I have a wonderful flat and the boys (the cats) keep me entertained with their shenanigans and I love my freedom of being single. So what is all the musing about?? Maybe it's time that I threw myself headfirst back into the dating game and see whats occuring.
Maybe it's just that 30 is the first great milestone in adulthood. We have to readdress our life to see if it fits our goals and if not we still have time to do something about it.
So what am I going to do???
1. Firstly right a list of everything I have achieved so far and what is still to be done.
2.Then see where I still want to travel and set plans in motion.
3.Get sorted about my weight. It has been a battle all my life and at the moment I'm not at my happiest. SO I plan to swim 5k for charity in April and then walk the West Highland Way in June (93miles of scottish terain!) all goals that i know I can achieve and it gives me a reason to get my bum to the gym/ swimming pool!! Plus i know I will see results!
4. Get more focussed on my career. I have 3 more exams to sit....time to get working towards the next one I suspect!
5. Enjoy the here and now! Life is far too short to be worrying 24/7. It's the time to enjoy :D
Now to see if any of this works lol
